Table of contents in the description 📜 KHWCC Is an independent international watchmaking school in Le Locle, Switzerland. Led by Henrik Korpela, contrary to most other watchmaking schools in Switzerland, they teach in English rather than French or German. Early this November, I asked KHWCC if they would agree to a spontaneous interview and Henrik Korpela, who is the director, main instructor and a watchmaking teacher of 14 years, was kind enough to agree. Henrik is fun to hang out with, but most importantly: very instructive and passionate about teaching. Two of his students have even gone off to teach in WOSTEP. Join us, while we discuss the school, the studies and get down to the fundamentals of watchmaking. You might also discover some valuable watchmaking know-how and little nitty-gritty details that you'd never had heard of otherwise. We discuss subjects like Henrik's career, watchmaking tools, custom watch parts, how Geneva stripes are made and many more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1:01 Introduction of Henrik and his story 8:40 Working under pressure 11:15 The most difficult skills to master in watchmaking 15:26 How are the studies structured for the students of KHWCC 20:34 Introduction to the machine room 24:27 How Geneva stripes are made 25:58 Feeling VS visual cues while operating machines 32:44 The difference between Formula 1 car engine VS mass-produced Toyota car engine 34:33 Swedish watchmaker GOS featuring Damascus steel 37:31 Introducing the students 38:58 ChunJen introducing his current project: Jaeger-leCoultre Memovox restoration 42:40 CJ introduces his special custom design click spring system designed by Henrik 44:38 About the Geneva seal - the hallmark of quality certification in watchmaking 46:43 Yoke making exercise 48:50 Pallet jewel repair exercise 49:45 Secret black-polishing sauce 51:31 Future plans of KHWCC students after their studies 57:10 Final thanks 58:08 Outro ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ KHWCC 🏫 Web: http://khwcc.ch/ Blog: http://khwcc.blogspot.com/ Insta: / khwcc_official YouTube: https://goo.gl/Y45UM2 Smell of Metal ✨⚙️ Web: https://smellofmetal.com/ Insta: / mark.horology Camera operator - Meriliis Meier Insta: / kassitot
