Thought the frenuloplasty is basically a very simple procedure, yes, it can have some complications which can have some long term effects also. The most immediate complications is bleeding because there is a frenular artery which supplies the penis head as well. And that artery if not identified and ligated properly, then it can be immediate or it can be the delayed post op also. The delayed complication is if you are not able to lengthen the frenulum adequately then the skin does not go back and the procedure is unsuccessful. Sometimes the frenulum, the tissues are not adequate for us to do the frenuloplasty to do the adequate release that is required. In that case, you can end up with a circumcision rather than only a frenuloplasty.
