Sometimes, when family caregiving becomes too stressful, or when the needs of your elderly parents just can't be met at home, seniors and family members start to think about the possibility of moving to an assisted living facility. While there may be some amount of resistance from your parent, or even from you, about the thought of moving to an assisted living, there is very often, in the back of your mind, a little thought that moving parent into assisted living could possibly lessen your stress as a family caregiver. This is very often the case, but sometimes the move to an assisted living is not what family caregivers think it's going to be. While assisted living facilities near me, and those everywhere, provide so many services for the seniors who live there, there are some factors that effect whether they are used at all! Some elderly parent care may STILL fall on family caregivers and family members, yes believe it or not! Caregiving for elderly parents, just may continue even if they are living in an assisted living community.
