Hoek van Holland is a coastal town in South Holland, located on the north bank of the Nieuwe Waterweg where it reaches the North Sea. Hoek van Holland was of great importance to the Germans during the Second World War. Most important was the "Festung Hoek van Holland" on both sides of the mouth of the Nieuwe Waterweg with the world port of Rotterdam in the hinterland. The southern part of this was demolished after the war during the construction of the Europoort area. In this beach walk we will go from the beachclubs to the place where ships are spotted. It's a busy day with lots of people everywhere. Hope you'll enjoy it!
