Hi there! Welcome to the first Dead by Daylight video of the year! :D This project was quite literally love at first sight, lol. I saw the Trailer and immediately took screenshots of the Blade to build it. Technically, I kind of also wanted to make this slightly (very) disgusting little Twin as well, but of course during Pandemic there is no visiting the flea market to find a nice big doll to mutilate. This project will have to wait. So, with this build I'm using the well-known method that cosplayers use when they're working with foam pieces to make weapons. But of course we don't need pricey foam and glues here, we're achieving the same goals with cardboard, glue and determination (and maybe some hot glue gun burns), It worked out pretty well, and I even documented enough of the process to make you some neat little diagrams after. Because of Pandemic Feels ™ I had no motivation to do all that planning upfront, so I just started one lazy Sunday morning with improvising the sketch on a piece of cardboard. Since that looked good, I used that very same cardboard in the video, no time wasted. I've recently gotten into watching sewing videos, and the super talented peeps over there are printing out their patterns and then taping them together in full scale. So if you know how to do that (I don't), you can use the sketch and measurements in the video :D All in all, this project was really fun, I encountered no major issues along the way, so I'll probably use this technique again in the future. It was nice just whipping up the piece and it certainly lifted my mood a lot. I actually worked on another project at the same time, so you can already look forward to next week's video :D In the meantime, check out my Insta (at) official_luna_rogers to get behind the scenes info and lots of cat pictures. As I'm uploading I noticed that I never mentioned what the clear spray paint was for. Use it to finish the entire blade at the very end, so the rather thin layer of weathering paint doesn't rub off! *** materials. 2 mm grey board (2 pieces, size A3) 4mm cardboard red craft cardboard (or red fabric) sketch paper (around 100 gsm, or whatever fits your printer if you want to print the pieces) cardboard clay (learn how to make this in a seperate video on my channel!) masking tape hot glue PVA glue (brands like “Elmer's” or “Ponal”) acrylic paints spray paint (silver and matte clear) wallpaper glue (optional, you can use a 1:1 mix of PVA glue and water) tools: ruler craft knife scissors hot glue gun brushes plastic for sculpting (like a knife, spoon or a cut piece of packaging) measurements: on screen at 1:17
