L'esthétisme de cette Honda Civic est directement inspiré de la culture des streets racers de Osaka au Japon: les Kanjozoku.  Les Kanjozoku utilisent encore aujourd'hui les Honda Civic pour se défier entre eux sur les routes sinueuses des montagnes japonaises ou encore sur la fameuse autoroute "loop one" dans le cœur du centre-ville d’Osaka.
