How to Tie a Knocker Rig for Bottom or Reef Fishing

Follow link to subscribe to our channel    / @feelitreelit   In this weeks Tip for Tuesday, Captain Jim Branca explains how to tie a knocker rig for bottom fishing. He uses 60ib fluorocarbon leader(4 ft.), a 5oz. egg sinker, #6 salmon egg bead and a 8/0 circle hook.He ties the leader to the hook using an improved clinch knot .He then slides the bead on the leader to sit on top of the knot (this prevents line chaffing from the sinker). Then slide the sinker on the leader so that the sinker sits on top of the bead. Lastly, simply tie your knocker rig to your main line. He uses a swivel from my main line to the leader or you can tie line to line. The knocker rig works for virtually any size leader, simply adjust weight and hook size. The knocker rig is used for bottom fishing and will help you catch grouper, snapper, porgy, grunts, triggerfish, cobia, sharks, and any other fish that are on the bottom. Good luck and tight lines.
