Lotus Seed Growing Underwater Time Lapse (68 Days)

This time-lapse takes on how a lotus/nelumbo nucifera seed sprouting, rooting, and growing into plants. A small hole was scored on the chosen lotus seed to help with boosting germination. It was then put in a glass filled with water. Two days later, it started hatching into a seedling and surfacing over the water level. At the 10th day, we moved the seedling into a bigger glass container filled with mud and water. It then developed roots and the first batch of leaves/pads. After that, the lotus plant kept developing tubers and more pads. We wish we could keep it on the camera longer; However, with algae invasion due to overexposure of light, heat, and moisture, we had to transplant it to our pond.
