Crochet a Pumpkin Ring Tutorial - Hanging Decor / Bunting

Pumpkin Ring – Hanging Décor / Bunting These pumpkin rings are a super quick, no sew make. They can be use as hanging decorations for the fall / Autumn season or may be attached to a string to make bunting. This is a reworking of an old pattern of mine, now simplified and made with super squishy blanket yarn. I hope you enjoy making these! Happy stitching. Lex US terminology Ch – chain Slst – slip stitch Sc – single crochet Dc – double crochet (a) x b – repeat sequence a by b many times Materials: 7mm crochet hook (or your preferred size) 65mm wooden ring Scissors Needle for weaving in ends Stitch marker Yarn: Blanket yarn, Super Chunky (example bernat blanket) In 2 or 3 shades of your choice. The example uses orange for the main colour, grey for the accent shade / stem and green for the leaf. The Ring Crochet over any yarn tails where possible. Round 1: Make a slip knot. Insert your hook through the ring then place the slip knot on your hook. Ch 1 around the round to secure. Make 26 sc around the ring [26] Round 2: Work in the BACK LOOPS. (slst x 2, skip stitch, make 3 dc in the next st, dc x 3, make 3 dc in the next st, sc x 3, make 3 dc in the next st, skip the next st) x 2 [34] Round 3: Work in the BACK LOOPS. (Slst x 2, sc x 2, inc, sc x 4, inc, sc x 4, inc, sc x 2) x 2 [40] Change to accent colour. Round 4: Now work in the unused front loops from the previous round. Slst loosely in each stitch around Round 5: Ch 1 and then work around the front loops of round 3. Slst loosely in each stitch until you are half way around the ring. Make the next 2 slst through the sts of round 4 and then through the front loops of round 3. Make slsts in the remaining sts. [40] Fasten off and weave in your yarn tails. Stem In accent colour. Chain between 18-24 sts or longer if desired. Slst back in to the first chain to make a loop and fasten off. Leaf In green. Join green yarn to the top of the ring with a slst. Ch 6, start in 2nd ch from your hook, inc x 5 [10] Slst back in to the top of the ring and fasten off. Secure yarn tails. Loop the stem around the top of the ring and pull tight. All done!
