Hiking the Bayou Sauvage Boardwalk Trail in NEW ORLEANS!!

We took a short trip to hike the Bayou Sauvage Boardwalk in New Orleans East. This trail is in the middle of the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge and provides stunning views of the marsh and swamps of New Orleans. While we tried to catch a glimpse of some of the alligators inhabiting the swamps, all we found was some bugs! Our day in the heat was quickly cut short by some thunderstorms but we made the best of it by getting Vietnamese for lunch at Dong Phuong Bakery. Our Bahn Mi sandwiches really hit the spot at this iconic New Orleans institution. After lunch we stopped at the nearby Dixie Brewing to pickup a few beers to-go.
