We've got back to back Voith Enviro's performing better than normal here! Today we have a Euro 6 variant in Enviro 400 MMC body, slightly newer Voith gearbox compared to the older Enviro 400s and of course the "Smart Hybrid" technology is included. As you can tell by the title, I've named this the "Slingshot Effect." Here, with the driver causing a great amount of resistance to acceleration, the bus has no other choice than to downshift and hold its gear up until between 2100 & 2200RPM, regardless of what gear it is in and unless going downhill. During these gear holds, the power delivery is greater than normal... it's almost like a 'surge' with the revs evidently picking up very quickly, quicker than the Euro 5 Voith E400 in the previous video, creating a thrilling experience! Enough said, as mentioned earlier these gear holds happen in all gears, multiple occasions where an over-revving downshift occurred, and towards the end of the video some nice top speed action on our way back to the garage!
