How to FIX your RPM Arms ANY RC CAR Hey all in this video I have come up with a fix for damaged RPM arms. I bash my cars pretty hard and have been manufacturing and testing hinge pins for a while now. Part of the testing requires going to extreme levels with the RC Cars to ultimately break/bend/damage the pins. In this process the lower arms fitted get damaged on the hing point and open up the plastic or on cheaper arms just break. I have been and primarily use the RPM arms. Super strong and even though I haven’t ever snapped one I have opened up the hinge holes on many many sets. I was throwing these away when I decided to try a potential fix. In this video I show you how to do their fix at very little cost. I haven’t tried them out yet but can guarantee I’ll get some more bashing out of these arms before I have to throw them away. This is the size for the Team Associate Rival MT8 Other 1/8 scale cars generally use 4mm hinge pins so the tube would usually be 5mm outer and 4mm inner diameter. This will work on any RPM arm but I have only tried on 1/8 scale. I suggest bigger cars would also work. Smaller cars like 1/10 the arms may be too small and be at risk of splitting or weakening the plastic where the hinge pins secures to the chassis of the vehicle. If we don’t currently manufacture the Hinge Pins we can make them if you can provide some simple information and improve your Bashing Experience Hinge Pins After constantly bending the stock hinge pins on my MT8 after a bashing session and damaging the metal hinges and lower arms I decided to do something about it. Stock MT8 hinge pins are super cheap and super weak. I would guess made from a mild steel which bends just by looking at in the wrong way. I was sick of replacing the hinge pins every week and doing damage to even the toughest lower arms such as RPM. Yes I was eating through RPM arms opening up the hole the pin sits in so bad the arms needed replacing. So I started testing different materials in a quest to find a hinge pin that would be strong and durable and allow me to Bash my car without unnecessary damage to the car. Currently we have tried and tested many different metals to find the strongest most durable parts to add to your RC cars Currently we can provide various hinge pins for mainly 1/8th scale RC cars in various materials MT8 - Stainless Steel 304 MT8 - HSS Steel Heat Treated Arrma - Titanium Grade 5 These come cut to the correct size with a chamfer and you even get a sticker 😝 We have also developed a hinge pin that is stronger than Titanium that when is put under extreme force snaps and prevents damage to lower arms. This is currently still being Tested to ensure consistency.
