Our keynote speakers are Dr. Issam El Naqa, founding Chair of the Department of Machine Learning at Moffitt Cancer Center, and Dr. Sarah Mattonen, Assistant Professor at Western University. Dr. El Naqa is an internationally recognized authority in machine learning, data analytics, and oncology outcomes modeling, with over 220 peer-reviewed journal publications and four edited textbooks. Dr. Mattonen is the inaugural Gerald C. Baines Research Chair for Translational Cancer Imaging at the London Regional Cancer Program, with research interests in quantitative image analysis tools for oncology diagnosis, treatment, and response assessment. In addition, our panelists, Laya Rafiee, PhD, and Luca Weishaupt, PhD Student, will share their insights and experiences in developing and implementing AI algorithms in as medical physics students.
