Micro-computed tomography (microCT) or X-Ray Microscopy (XRM) is X-ray imaging in 3D, the same method used in clinical CT scans, but on a small scale with massively increased resolution. It really represents 3D microscopy, where very fine scale internal structure of objects is imaged non-destructively, both in vivo and ex vivo. In this fourth video of the series "Applications of MicroCT in Life Science": 1. Mouse cardiac list-mode scan 52µm voxel size 2. Mouse heart dual cardia-lung gated scan surface rendered 60µm voxel size 3. Mouse lungs and heart HMDS dried 3µm voxel size 4. Mouse postmortem Exia 160 blood-pool contrast 18µm voxel size 5. Mouse vasculature nano12000 iv contrast in vivo 40µm voxel size 6. PMA stained Rabbit heart 10µm voxel size Bruker micro- and nano-tomography are available in a range of easy-to-use desktop and floor-standing instruments, which generate 3D images of your sample’s morphology and internal microstructure with resolutions down to micron and even sub-micron levels. Bruker’s portfolio of 3D X-ray microCT systems offers turnkey solutions for non-destructive, high-resolution 3D imaging of small laboratory animals and a wide variety of biological samples. This includes mineralized and soft tissues, tumors, plants, and insects, as well as archeological and paleontological research fields.
