It's a buyers market right now... but that doesn't mean a dealer won't try anything to get you to buy now and buy high. If a dealer does this… leave immediately. In this video, I'll explain the things to lookout for when buying a new car, truck or SUV in 2025. The car market is delicate right now... supply is through the roof, tariff talks are constant, banks are clamping down on auto loans, and people can't afford to keep up with it all. Here are the points I talk through in this video: Hurry up and buy you "Pre-tariff vehicle!" Requires pre-approval or credit approval filled out before you test drive Typo… make them own that price. And do better… let them know you’re not afraid to go to the BBB and leave 1 star reviews. Need you to come into the dealership to talk numbers. Refuse to give ballpark trade in values based on VIN, miles and photo submissions. Refuse to send the deal write up… Force protection packages or bogus dealer fees …ridiculous doc fees. Require you to finance through the dealership… this is Okay but still come with your own pre approved financing and rate so they know what they have to beat. Negotiate the out the door price. Not the payment!! "Let me talk to my manager…" get a solid deal in writing before you even show up to the dealership. If a dealer withholds their best rate “unless you buy extended warranty” or “protection packages” this is illegal! As a parting shot… I encourage you to shop out of state, and reel it in closer to where you live to maximize the deal. Don’t let a dealer convince you that you need to ACT NOW or else you’ll lose the deal. That couldn’t be further from the truth right now. Supply has far exceeded demand.
