Jump links below! Going over what top surgery is, why I got it, where I went, what it was like.. :) I had top surgery December 29, 2009 with Dr Melissa Johnson in Springfield, MA. Things I missed: 1. I needed a letter from my therapist recommending top surgery to ease my gender dysphoria, Dr Johnson required this back then (not sure about now.) 2. I was asked to stop T for two weeks prior to surgery to help with healing - some doctors do this, others don't. 3. For scar treatment, I've used both Mederma and Silicone Strips. the Silicone Strips I believe helped most. MOST IMPORTANTLY sunscreen on those scars, friends!! A sunburn on a scar makes it darker, permanently!
