Emmett Till was beaten and killed at this shed on a plantation three miles west of the town of Drew, Mississippi. The plantation was then managed by Leslie Milam, brother of J.W. Milam and Roy Bryant. Some people advocate for this shed to be torn down, but it is a historical site with a very important historical event tied to it. We don't ask for the Lorraine Motel to be demolished because Martin Luther King was killed there; we don't ask that Dealy Plaza be bulldozed because JFK was killed there. No one is making money off of this site and it is on private property. Please do not make comments about tearing or burning down this shed.
