The CZ Scorpion is one of the most popular 9mm pistol caliber carbines on the market, and in my opinion represents one of the best values available today with 9mm PCCs. While the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 and it's many variants (Evo 3 S2 Micro, Evo 3 S3 Plus) are highly capable out of the box, they've also gained popularity for their impressive 3rd party aftermarket support. Companies like HB Industries, Gearhead Works and Timney make excellent accessories for the Scorpion that can make an already capable firearm truly exceptional. The CZ Scorpion was my first love when it comes to 9mm pistol caliber carbines. I purchased my first CZ Scorpion as a 16" rifle back in 2017 and immediately fell in love with 9mm PCCs. In 2018 I sold it after I purchased the 8" pistol variant seen here, as I typically prefer shorter platforms, especially when running suppressed. I ran it as a pistol with an SB Tactical brace for about a year before filing the form 1 to make it an SBR in 2019. I have around 1,500-2,000 rounds through the Scorpion with zero failures to date. While the direct-blowback system of the CZ Scorpion is highly reliable, it does result in a higher felt recoil than other competitors using delayed recoil systems. That said, I find the Scorpion's recoil to be completely manageable, especially when shooting suppressed. Using my Dead Air Wolfman in short configuration, the CZ Scorpion is extremely pleasant to shoot suppressed. It is definitely not the quietest suppressor host due to the direct blowback operation, but it is one of the least gassy 9mm PCC hosts I've used, and it's still very quiet compared to unsuppressed fire. For this video I shot 275 rounds with no failures. It had been quite a while since I shot the Scorpion and I had an absolute blast with it during this session. It has excellent ergonomics, is extremely accurate and feels very visceral under fire. My Scorpion is fully upgraded for a much improved experience with an HB Industries AK style right side safety and extended charging handle, an extended magazine release lever from GearHead Works, a Magpul pistol grip, a Troy vertical grip, a 3-lug adapter from HK Parts, and by far the most impressive upgrade of all, the Timney V2 trigger. It's honestly one of the best triggers I've ever used, better than most AR triggers and better than any other PCC trigger I've used - it's honestly phenomenal. This is my 8th video in my 9mm PCC Comparison series. There will be 2 more videos on individual 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbines released soon, and then a final video will be released comparing all 10 PCCs in great detail.
