Why do we need of any kind of Dump load AC or DC if we Turn On Grid Tie Inverter / Micro Inverter without Grid? Turning ON Grid Tie inverter requires Stable Voltage and specific Frequency range and even so it take up to 5 minutes for Grid Tie inverter to check the system requirement before turning on. All grid tie inverter working on MPPT principle. Grid Tie inverter will shut OFF if frequency of source changes beyond acceptable range and try to turn ON after 5 minutes Because of above requirement when the grid tie inverter comes ON we have to use all power that they putting out (since you cannot regulate the output power generated with grid tie inverter they all the time ON or OFF when they are ON they generate as much power as they can base on how much light they receive from sun) all excess power will flow into the grid, in absent of real grid if excess power no way to go they will damage something on system / or will shut grid tie inverter off for at least 5 minutes. I designed the dynamic AC dump load that is presented at output of Grid tie inverter so without the main grid the excess power generated by grid tie inverter will dump to AC load without traveling through Pure Sinewave AC Couple Inverter (Magnum) that it trig the Grid tie inverter as they connected to real grid. After 5 minutes grid tie inverter will coming on since it will see the solid Voltage 240V and correct frequency generated by Pure Sinewave AC Couple Inverter (Magnum PAE) . With DC dump load all excess power generated by Grid tie inverter without the real Grid must go through AC couple Inverter before get dumped. I design the circuitry to control the AC dump load, in case of excess power coming from Grid Tie inverter without the Grid and after batteries are charged to dump excessive power, also if I change my real usage of power in my house the circuitry automatically adjust the amount of the power deliver to dump load. Again why do we need a dump load AC/DC? Because we do not want micro inverter keep going off it will take up to 5 mins to come backup and if we do not use don't use all produced power by solar panels again they go off (keep cycling)
