A tight arm won't fire explosively, whereas a loose and relaxed arm will swing through the air much quicker, but also reduce the risk of injury. In this video, Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov will share with you a simple trick to help you stay loose and relaxed on your tennis forehand. When you start the forehand swing, if you don't use your non-hitting hand to initiate the take-back and rely solely on the hitting hand, your arm muscles will be tight and stiff. The weight of the racket will be supported by the hitting hand and in turn, will build tension in the main muscles of the arm. However, when you hold the throat of the tennis racket with your non-hitting hand, you'll be supporting the weight of the racket with the non-hitting hand and the hitting hand can stay relaxed and loose.
