It is common for Uberti open-top revolvers to have a noticeable cylinder gap (endshake) due to their arbor not being long enough to fill out the recessed hole in the barrel assembly. This gap is sometimes 0.01"+. An ideal cylinder gap when the cylinder is pushed back towards the hammer is 0.005"-0.008". Excessive cylinder gap will cause your burning powder charge to exit that gap which will reduce velocity and foul up your action and revolver prematurely. You can use a 5mm washer like the one listed below to add into the recessed hole of the barrel assembly and then slide the arbor inside. This will cause the arbor to bottom-out and provide two stable points of contact (where the barrel meets the frame at the bottom being the second). M5 Split Washers: https://amzn.to/3rGOz1n You can then tap your wedge in so that it bottoms out on the retaining screw on the side of the barrel to bring the gap closer together. Unfortunately, this may move on you when discharging the revolver due to recoil. A more permanent fix is to widen the wedge. You can also gently tap on the sides of the barrel wedge with a hammer to widen the wedge. It doesn't take much to see results! Slide the wedge back in every few hammer taps to test until you get the results you're after. When the cylinder gap is reduced, you may need to file the forcing cone if it is making contact with the cylinder and binding the action up. Use the file sparingly and test as you go. You can't put metal back on once it's removed! Aesthetically, you can reduce the cylinder gap by replacing the cones with aftermarket SliXshot brand cones (see below). https://www.slixprings.com/proddetail...
