Here's the story of how my friend and I ended up in a cult using HelpX. The cult is called the Twelve Tribes, they have communities all over the world ! One of them is located in Katoomba, Blue Mountains, Australia where they own a restaurant/café called the Yellow Deli. (HelpX is a web site that connects people looking for help with their farm/house/garden etc. and people who want to travel for little money and eager to meet people. It is a great way to travel on a budget since in exchange for the help you get to stay at your host's house, where they'll provide bed and board) But as usual you never know what you're going to get! Be careful who you trust! Cults/religious sects are dangerous - Hopefully not teaching you anything here! They have very elaborated manipulative techniques, and target specific type of personalities. People lacking support from their families, people going through hard times, emotionally weak and they take advantage of that. Isolating that person, making them give up everything pertaining to their life. Which makes it hard/impossible to eventually leave the cult.
