Biennale Arte 2024 offers a remarkable breadth of artistic expression with a total of 86 national pavilions, mostly at the Giardini and the Arsenale, and also various historic venues across Venice. I personally picked out 8 pavilions that really caught my eye, capturing on camera the artworks they presented. The Israel's pavilion's opening is on hold until a Gaza ceasefire and the safe return of hostages, while Australia made history as it clinched the Golden Lion for Best National Pavilion, featuring Archie Moore's hand-drawn chalk family tree that extends thousands of generations on both the walls and ceiling, praised by the jury for its profound potential for healing and recovery. Among all the most notable national pavilions, Germany's "Thresholds," extends beyond the Giardini to the lesser-known island of La Certosa, exploring three scenarios about the history and future.
