John Kretschmer has sailed over 300,000 nautical miles, written several books, and many articles over the years. He's a legend in the sailing world (although he would hate that I just wrote that). We count him as a dear friend and a sailing mentor. We sat down together in St. Thomas to talk about writing and the cruising life. This is part one of our conversation. After a few years of racing against each other, we joined forces to travel to Marblehead and compete in our National Regatta. In the process we discovered we could make each other laugh at the drop of a hat. We also discovered we had some complementary dreams -- Tim wanted to move to San Diego and live on a sailboat and Gretchen wanted to head offshore on a sailboat. So, we got hitched and now we're getting ourselves and our boat ready to point the bow toward Mexico and beyond. We have a list of things we need to do to the boat (some of them fairly spend-y), and of course, we need to save our pennies to fund the dream. Our Schedule: We post videos when we have content that is worth your time and when we have time to create... Ideally once a week, but really more like once every month or two. We're trying...
