Sara Castro-Olivo, PhD, is a nationally certified school psychologist and an associate professor of educational psychology at Texas A&M University. Her work as an interventionist for Spanish-speaking populations in Texas, California and Oregon draws on her research into culturally responsive social-emotional and behavioral interventions for Latino ELL youth and families, and on her personal experience as a teen immigrant to the United States. She has worked as a bilingual community health educator, social skills trainer, parent trainer, school psychologist and mental health care provider.
