Female student spokespersons, courageous protesters, student security team members, teachers, actresses, journalists, lawyers, doctors, farmers, mothers, sisters, grandmothers, daughters—women... It seems as if the public has been overwhelmed by a million obvious examples of female heroism and resilience. Sadly, they have also been the primary victims of organized criminal violence against the student protests. These women are the inspiration behind Zbogom. The song and video are about breaking ties—not just with one man, but with an entire system of authoritarian rule that has kept us in a state of political paralysis and moral corruption for over a decade. We hope we have all had enough, that we have reached the point of no return to a society built on violence and oppression."
