The Boss GT-1000 was introduced in 2018, yet is still stands up well against current amp modelers and multi-effects units in the same cost category. The Core is a smaller more streamlined version that has all of the same functionality or 'brains' but with less control switches or built in foot controller. I started using it as my go to for recording bass direct and any effect heavy tones that I might be recording at any given time. The ability to import your own impulse responses makes it a great go to, quick to tape solution for demos or projects that have a quick turnaround. Before you go drop $1500+ on a more expensive amp modeling unit, give this thing a spin. With just a little investment in time, you may find that if does all you need at practically half the cost.
