Melancholy on Magnetic Tape / Piano on Tape (–10%) speed. Tape Ambient Study

This track began with a live recording of an old piano, captured on location using a field recorder. These raw piano sounds form the emotional core of the piece. On top of that, I added evolving pads and subtle effects using modular synthesizers. Additional elements were created with the Torso S-4 Sampler and the OP-1 Field by Teenage Engineering. The complete arrangement was then recorded onto a tape machine. During playback and re-recording, the tape speed was reduced by approximately –10%, adding depth, softness, and a sense of temporal drift. After final mastering, the result is a quiet, melancholic ambient electronic track — slow, minimal, and spacious.
