Lacy Corset Cover Camisole | The One That Should Have Been a Mock-up | Sewing with Thrifted Fabric It's funny how even though something doesn't turn out, I am still happy with it! I've been having a lot of "unsuccessful" sewing projects lately, but I guess that comes with the territory of being "newer" to sewing and self taught. I think this Corset Cover Camisole has all the right look, but I not the right fit. I cannot blame New Look 6563, I just used the pattern pieces and did not follow the instructions. The mistakes were all mine, so I would definitely give this pattern another chance. I would just 100% make a mock-up first!! I have been non-stop looking at antique corset covers and lacy vintage camisoles - I really wanted to make my own. I absolutely love the layer lace and the frills, and the covered buttons were actually pretty easy - just time consuming. This top definitely took a lot of patience and a lot of try-ons - I would recommend wearing an easy to remove shirt while making this! I'm excited to try this again, I think it would go a lot quicker - especially when I nail down a good pattern for it. I keep picturing it in different colours and fabric patterns, maybe with stretchy puffed sleeves?? Possibilities are endless! Maybe I'll try it again next month! I'm always worried about making the same thing back to back for variety.. but I have to admit - I realllly want to get started on another one!! Oh yah, and I made a skirt!
