2007 Acura TL Instrument Cluster Odometer LCD Screen Repair Part 1 of 2

Welcome to my long form repair video for the 2007-2008 Acura TL Instrument Cluster. This cluster had a bad odometer LCD screen. According to the owner the screen progressively lost display row lines starting from the top and proceeding towards the upper-middle of the screen. The result was an inability to display the mileage and other informational notices sent to the LCD. In this video I'll go over removing the instrument cluster and tearing it down to determine the root cause of the malfunction. In short: the cause was due to cracks in the lower base of the LCD screen mating to the ribbon cable. I was not able to find a serviceable replacement part based on the codes printed on the LCD part. I resorted to buying a whole replacement instrument cluster unit from Ebay to scavenge it for needed screen part. Please see part 2 of this video to see how I put it all back together and tested it.
