This split unites two prominent forces within the Russian black metal scene. Despite the temporal gap in their recording sessions, both projects achieve a remarkable cohesion on this offering, demonstrating their shared vision and intensity. Thematically, both bands delve into the same dark, relentless black metal ethos, which is mirrored in the ferocity and depth of their music. Altwald contributes two tracks as a homage to native traditions and the late Kaldrad, a pivotal figure known for his work with Branikald, Forest, Sternatis, amongst others. These tracks exude a transcendental primal power, deeply rooted in the Blazebirth Hall (BBH) concept, a hallmark of Altwald's sound. The band's tribute to Kaldrad not only honours his legacy but also cements their place in the continuation of this tradition, showcasing a blend of fierce aggression and mystical ambiance. Djur, on the other hand, offers a more contemporary take on black metal. The first track of their contribution channels the ferocity and raw energy reminiscent of their debut album, marking a return to their roots with an unbridled, vicious black metal manifesto.
