Last night was one of the hardest nights of my life. Lions entered my compound, and all night we stayed awake protecting our animals and our home. Living in Maasai land means living close to nature, and sometimes that nature reminds us how powerful it is. After a long night of fear and no sleep, something unexpected happened. I received a beautiful gift sent all the way from Germany. In that moment, I felt so grateful. It reminded me that even when life is difficult, kindness and blessings can come from people far away.
