Living organisms Classification full video for beginners. An organism is considered as living when it performs the different life processes in one form of another. The occurrence of life processes can differentiate between living organisms and non-living objects. Scientists have estimated that there are around 8.7 million species of plants and animals in existence. However, only around 1.8 million species have been identified and described so far, most of which are insects. This means that millions of other organisms remain a complete mystery. Classification: is defined as placing and arranging the known species into different groups or taxa according to similarities and dissimilarities. There are three types of classification which includes: Artificial classification, Natural classification, and Phylogenetic classification. Therefore the technique of classifying organisms is known as Taxonomy. Taxonomy is made up of two words i.e. 'Taxis,' which means 'arrangement' and 'Nomos,' which means 'method. A hierarchy was maintained when an organism is categorized into numerous groups. In hierarchical order, an organism belongs to the Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species.More species are added in the group like super class or subphylum as per their identifications. Also Binomial system of nomenclature help biologist to name organisms which consist of two words names. Genus and species. In biology, Carolus Linnaeus group living organisms into 2 kingdom plants and animals. Based on the modern classification Organisms are divided into five kingdoms: animal, plant, fungi, protist and monera. Finally the main important of living for classifying organisms is to helps in the correct identification of various organisms.
