While Saber Interactive is known for games where you control heavy machinery in challenging situations like RoadCraft and SnowRunner, with Docked, the studio has taken a different approach. Rather than being a jack-of-all-trades, your focus is instead narrower, running an efficient port and building up to eventually thrive. In gameplay terms, this also means that most of the gameplay revolves around the use of varying types of cranes. In practice, the crane gameplay feels quite engaging, and the sheer complexity of these machines tend to also provide a hefty sense of satisfaction from having mastered a certain task. This is paired with a light layer of management gameplay where you’re signing deals, upgrading buildings and buying more vehicles. However, despite the level of attention paid to cranes and other dock vehicles, there is also a general lack of variety that might end up doing more harm than good in the long term.
