Crockett, Texas is named after the frontiersman Davy Crockett and it is where he camped on his journey to go fight at the Alamo. The Old San Antonio Road, which is a section of El Camino Real de los Tejas, runs through the area. Crockett was founded in 1837 making it one of the oldest towns in Texas.
