The baby naps are totally different. I tried the eat/play/sleep, we did lots of carrier naps, and now that the baby is napping on her floor bed if she doesn't go down right away I call it and try again in an 30-60 min. When she does fuss in the middle of a nap I give her a second to try and figure out if she's awake and needs something or just making noise.
