Travel is something I’m starting to do a lot more recently, and I always end up constantly changing up the tech I bring with me, leading to disorganization, and overall, makes traveling a much more painful experience. So today, we’re gonna talk about the travel tech items I personally use, and more importantly why I use them instead of other similar items. Hopefully this gives you ideas for your own travels. Well, let’s get started. I used to carry a pair of full blown noise canceling, wireless headphones with me in my backpack. The Sony 1000xm3, but I found that it takes up a lot of space in your bag, and for domestic flights or road trips, having just airpods pro provided good enough noise canceling, and comfort all in a more convenient and portable package. Then I have the Orbit key key organizer that keeps my kinds sorted out, organized, and prevents them from clinking around in my pocket or bundling up into a weird ball on a keychain. This is the peak design 30L Everyday backpack, it’s a techy, photographer and videographer focused backpack with a ton of little pockets and compartments for all sorts of media equipment and even comes with little dividers to compartmentalize the main space of the bag. It’s water resistant, and is really really functional. I think for most people, a backpack for travel is dependent on what you like to do. On the side pocket is a Zoshirushi 16oz beverage mug that I use for either water or hot drinks like coffee or tea. I really, really like this thing for holding hot beverages. It has a locking mechanism to prevent accidental spills, a nice button to pop open the lid, and it has a nice curved spout, so your drink doesn’t drip down the side. I’ve yet to find a better hot or cold beverage holder than this thing. Inside the backpack is the Bellroy slim tech pouch. This pouch carries all of my charging cables, powerbricks, power banks, and adapters. That way everything I need is stored in a single spot that I can just pull out whenever I need it instead of searching through random pockets of my backpack. Inside, there are 2 lightning cables. One with usb A and one with a USB-C port. There’s also a headphone jack adapter in case using wireless isn’t an option, and I also keep a usb-c to usb-c cable for non-apple devices like this anker power bank. This power bank has been my favorite one for a while since it has a built-in stand with magsafe for wireless charging, but it also works with android devices, it just won’t stick to the back of them. It doesn’t have the largest battery but definitely enough during an emergency. And you can still use the usb c port to charge your devices if you want a faster more efficient charge. I also keep an external SSD in here, just in case I need to back up anything I do. I would recommend a portable SSD over a portal external hard drive. The anker 65w GAN charger is super nice to have. Basically, this little brick has the charging capabilities of one of these chonky bois that you get with a macbook pro. But it can charge 3 different devices at once. Of course, your laptop will charge a bit slower if all the other ports are being used too, but that should be more than enough for most laptops. Now onto the main compartment. This is the Sony A7C. It’s a full-frame camera like the Sony A7IV and ASIII but in a small and compact form factor. This helps me cut down on space, without having to compromise on image quality too much. And I love fiddling with the photos and videos that come out of this guy. Now this is the DJI Wireless Mic. Basically, inside this airpods-like wireless charging case are two mics that are wirelessly connected to a receiver. The range on these things are ridiculous, both mics can be used at the same time for different people and you can also have another mic plugged into them, turning basically any mics you have into a wireless one. And lastly, in this main compartment, I usually bring a nintendo switch or a ps5 controller. If I’m bringing the switch, it’s normally to just play some games when I’m bored on an airplane. Because that screen is constantly exposed to the elements, if I’m bringing a PS5 controller, it’s so I can remote play to my PS5 at home for some casual games, or to play Genshin Impact on the iPad.
