UNIMOG Roof Rack and Brush Bars Explained! Interior Disco! - DIY Camper Expedition Truck (Eps. 46)

In this episode we kept working on the projects we wanted to have finished last week... (feels like that happens every week). We insulated our overhang and added a vapor barrier. We added our roof rack and drilled the holes to attach it to the cab. We cut insertion rubber strips for all the mounts and also added some to the backing plates as well. Once we were ready we added the roof rack and of course didn't have the correct length bolts and had to get some more from PRIME. Once that was sorted we just had to squeeze the backing plates into the top positions and replace the bolts that were too short on the roof. We also couldn't wait to install our STEDI Type X Pro spotties! The other main project was working on our overhang. After insulating the bottom of the overhang we managed to find a bit more insulation and vapor barrier and added this to the side walls. Then we cut and painted the ply sheets that go in to clad the walls and screwed these in, once the paint dried. We forgot to get some white sika so we will have to do that before we put the overhang on the box. Another big job was insulating the roof of the box, along with adding vapor barrier. We first cut the batts to size, then added string to the beams with the insulation tape to hold it up. Then we put some double sided tape on the beams and put the vapor barrier on this. We will have to start cladding the roof very quickly in order to keep the insulation in the right gaps. Our Unimog keeps looking better and it is very exciting to see everything come together!
