Three protesters halt US military plane at Shannon Airport, Ireland

Three protesters entered the runway at Shannon Airport in Ireland in an attempt to inspect a plane contracted to the US military. They sprayed the aircraft with red paint and held an Irish flag bearing the message, “US military out of neutral Ireland” before being apprehended. The three women, affiliated with Palestine Action Éire, claim the plane that landed at Shannon Airport is transporting troops and munitions to active warzones in the Middle East, including Israel and Yemen. They argue that this violates Ireland’s constitutional commitment to neutrality and breaches international law.
