Colourful villages in Alsace (France)
During our Alsace trip, we stayed in Colmar which is one of the prettiest and cutest towns in France. It is in Alsace region (3hours from Paris, 30 mins from Strasbourg by train) and lies on the Strasbourg - Basel route. It is a good base for exploring the wine route and surrounding beautiful villages of Eguisheim, Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, Kaysersberg among others as well as the Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle. We had a nice day out to two of the prettiest villages in the region, Riquewihr and Eguisheim. While we visited in winter when the Christmas decorations were up, Alsace is a great destination to visit in the summer as well, especially the wine route with vineyards around the pretty villages.
