If you were looking at a subcompact Glock 9mm pistol, should you get the Glock 26 vs 43? Is more capacity really better? You can read more in-depth at: https://aliengearholsters.com/blog/gl... The Glock 26 and Glock are both easy pistols to put up with for concealed carry, and are about the same size in height and length. The barrel is - near as makes no difference - the same. Both have Glock's trigger, safety and firing system...but that's where the similarities end. The Glock 26 is a double-stack pistol, and with a 10+1 capacity. It's a classic concealed carry gun or back-up gun to a larger pistol, as many people have carried a G26 as a back-up to a Glock 19 or Glock 17 since its release in the 1990s. The Glock 26, affectionately known as the Baby Glock, has been around for some time. However, Glock entered the single-stack subcompact game with the Glock 43, which quickly became one of the most popular pistols of its type. The Glock 43 is slimmer and lighter, at about 1 inch wide overall and 16.23 oz in weight, but holding only 6+1 with the standard magazine. The Glock 26 holds 10+1 in the flush magazine, but is the same width as the Glock 19 (1.26 inches for the Gen 4 model, 1.4 inches in the Gen 5 model) and is heavier at 19.4 oz unloaded. Extended magazines are available for both, with a 7+1 for the 43 and a 12+1 for the 26 being popular models. However, the Glock 26 can use the same magazines as the Glock 19, so getting new magazines - like an extended-capacity backup - is a little easier, and a little cheaper. Which is best? That really is up to you. Some people err on the side of the most convenient to carry, and others on a balance between ease of carrying and capacity. That much is up to you. Get out to a range and see which you happen to run best. The gun that you feel is better for you is the better pick. For some people, it's the Glock 43 and for some people it's the Glock 26.
