Like the 1995 show, this is from Festival Season at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Here we find an ailing Joe during his final run with the Syndicate. He passed away in September of 2007. There's a poignant moment in the excellent Weather Report book, Elegant People, where Joe meets up one final time with Wayne Shorter in Austria. Wayne was on tour with his band, and Joe was not long for this world. He was still at it, though, and always up for the music, as he is here. This set finds the Syndicate doing a pretty even mix of songs from their own output along with some Weather Report songs. Hot stuff from a hot band." Thanks to jswetch.
