The story takes place on the morning of July 3, 2009, when Ranbir got ready and arrived at the company office for a job interview. After waiting for some time, he completed his interview. The company's management staff were so impressed with Ranbir's communication skills, knowledge, and passion that they asked him to start working the very next day. Excited, Ranbir first shared the news with his parents and then called a friend in Dehradun to share the good news. Hearing about Ranbir’s new job, his parents and friend were overjoyed. However, their happiness turned into sorrow the next morning when they read the newspaper on July 4, 2009. On the front page of the newspaper was a headline stating that the Dehradun police had killed a gangster in an encounter. The news article also included a photograph showing the boy's body lying on the ground in a forest, surrounded by around 15 police officers. Some officers were even smiling as they posed for the photo.
