In this video we look at scripture to see what the Bible says the description of Mount Nebo is, the location that it says it's in, and all of its surroundings. Numbers 32:3-5 [3-4] “The Lord has helped us capture the land around the towns of Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, NEBO and Beon. That's good pastureland, and since we own cattle and sheep, [5] would you let us stay here east of the Jordan River and have this land as our own?” Nebo was on the east side of the Jordan River Valley. The Bible never once mentioned a country named Jordan Numbers 33:41-48 CEV [41-47] The Israelites left Mount Hor and headed toward Moab. Along the way, they camped at Zalmonah, Punon, Oboth, Iye-Abarim in the territory of Moab, Dibon-Gad, Almon-Diblathaim, at a place near Mount Nebo IN THE ABARIM MOUNTAINS, [48] and finally in the lowlands of Moab across the Jordan River from Jericho. Mount Nebo was in the Abram mountain range IN MOAB, and the area across from Jericho at the south end of the Sea of Galilee was the lowlands. There was upper and lower Galilee and upper was known for the mountainous region and lower was known for the lowlands Deuteronomy 32:48-49 [48] Later that day the Lord said to Moses: [49] Go up into the Abarim Mountain range here in Moab across the Jordan River valley from Jericho. And when you reach the top of Mount Nebo, you will be able to see the land of Canaan, which I am giving to Israel. Again, Mount Nebo was in the mountain range of the Abarim mountains in Moab. Deuteronomy 34:1-3 CEV [1] Sometime later, Moses left the lowlands of Moab. He went up Mount Pisgah to the peak of Mount Nebo, which is across the Jordan River from Jericho. The Lord showed him all the land as far north as Gilead and the town of Dan. [2] He let Moses see the territories that would soon belong to the tribes of Naphtali, Ephraim, Manasseh, and Judah, as far west as the Mediterranean Sea. [3] The Lord also showed him the land in the south, from the valley near the town of Jericho, known as The City of Palm Trees, to the town of Zoar. Deuteronomy 3:27 CEV [27] (God told Moses) Climb to the top of Mount Pisgah and look north, south, east, and west. Take a good look, but you are not going to cross the Jordan River. Showing that Mount Nebo and Pisgah are interchangeable Deuteronomy 4:49 CEV [49] Their land included all of the plains on the eastern side of the Jordan River valley, as far south as the Sea of the plains below the springs of Pisgah. Showing that Mount Nebo/Pisgah has Springs of water flowing from it. (The Nebo mountain in the Middle East does not.)
