Taking the colonial railway to the Nile lake, Kenya.

A train journey through Kenya from Nairobi to Lake Victoria. This railway line was an important element in British Nile strategies at the end of the ninenteenth and the beginning of the twentieth centuries. It has now been replaced by the new line, built by the Chinese. Scenes from "THE NILE QUEST", a TV-documentary in three episodes that tells the fascinating story of the longest, most mythical and politically intriguing river in the world. The film takes the viewer on a voyage through 5000 years of history up the river from the Mediterranean to the sources of the Nile, through deserts, swamps and rainforests, and on my way I talk to presidents and prime ministers and people living on the banks of the great river. This series unravel the dramatic quest for controlling the Nile and presents new perspectives on the Nile and its important role in current affairs.
