Being a good nanny matters — but it isn’t always enough to create a sustainable, healthy role. In this video, I’m talking about something that many experienced nannies recognize but don’t always hear said out loud. You can be attentive, nurturing, reliable, and deeply invested in the children you care for — and still end up exhausted, uncertain, or in roles that don’t last the way you expected. This isn’t about effort or dedication. Often, it’s about structure. When expectations aren’t clearly defined, boundaries slowly blur, and professionalism is missing — even unintentionally — the emotional weight of that imbalance often lands on the nanny. The nanny role sits at the intersection of personal and professional. When those two are balanced well, the relationship can be incredibly rewarding. But when clarity, communication, and boundaries are missing, kindness and flexibility alone won’t protect you from burnout. If you’ve ever felt like you were giving your best and still questioning yourself, this conversation is for you. You’re not alone — and it doesn’t mean you’re not good at what you do. I’m currently working on resources designed to help nannies navigate this industry with more clarity, confidence, and longevity.
