The Park Güell by Antoni Gaudí is one of Barcelona’s main tourists attractions and one of the most iconic works by Catalan modernist architect Antoni Gaudí. In this video we are going to be looking at Park Güell through the eyes of the architect and his original vision, which was not to build a tourist attraction, or even a park, but rather a private neighborhood for the rich families of Barcelona. We’ll start by understanding the relationship between Gaudí and Eusebi Güell and continue by looking at the original vision that the duo had for the Park and the challenges that that idea faced and eventually was unable to overcome. Then we’ll embark on this symbolic journey that Gaudi designed through the winding paths inside the park, from the entrance at the lower end until “el calbario”, located at the highest spot.
