@hispeedmotorsports @DRIVENASA A little POV of what it's like to go out and qualify for a race with NASA Northeast. This was the final event of the year at New Jersey Motorsports Park's Lightning Circuit (1.85 miles). I'm running in the Super Touring 4 (ST4) class with my #44 Hi-Speed Motorsports/Windshadow Photo Studios S54-swapped BMW E36 M3. Tires are Hoosier RCES 245/40/17 tires with over 20 heat cycles. Track was cold but a blast to drive on. . THINGS TO KNOW FOR QUALIFYING: 1. Check oil + water levels, pull fire pin, torque wheels + check tire pressures. 1A. Turn on video camera(s) to record session + safety gear/helmet on. 2. Tighten seatbelts + adjust your mirrors (you'll need them). 3. Check you have enough fuel (yes, we do forget at times). 4. Get the engine and gearbox to operating temps before going full speed. 5. Tell yourself that warm up laps are NOT full tilt (unless you want to crash). 6. Get the tires warm and brakes hot so they actually work well. 7. Find space away from other cars to get the fastest clean lap. 7A. If traffic is unavoidable, try to plan the passes where you won't lose time. 7B. Be courteous to other drivers. Qualifying sessions are for racing the stopwatch, not the other cars on track. Don't ruin their laps. 8. Don't hit or break s**t. 9. HAVE FUN. 10. "Lick the stamp and send it." -Danny Ric
