A Thousand Days to Zero - live modular synth performance with Mimetic Digitwolis + MIDI

It’s been nearly 1000 days since I was diagnosed with a cluster of health problems all at once. I knew things weren’t great, but I’d reached a point where I honestly stopped caring. Getting in front of the camera more for Noise Engineering videos ended up being the push I needed to change everything. TMI health list: fatty liver, hypertension, heart abnormalities, kidney issues, high cholesterol, prediabetes, and a slow weight gain. I ended up visiting heart specialists I didn’t know existed just to understand what was going on. Fast-forward to now, and I’m down around 40 pounds. My most recent bloodwork shows all of those issues are gone. I’ve learned how to cook and eat clean at home, count calories, sleep well, start my mornings with cardio and meditation in the sauna, and get sunlight every day. After diving into its MIDI features for the demo videos, I’ve found myself reinvigorated about integrating hardware synths back into my modular setup. Nive Grad has been ideal for leveling external synths, and I’m planning to grab another so I can run four different synths into the rack. Lane routing: • Lane 1: Triggering the kick • Lane 2: Melodic line sent via MIDI to the MS-20M and Moog Mother-32, and also to Manis Iteritas (one voice tuned down a fifth for some heaviness) • Lane 3: Stepped CV controlling the Mother-32’s LFO rate, which then modulates an MS-20 channel • Lane 4: Triggers running additional modular voices Electus Versio is on reverb duty, Ruina Versio is shredding Loquelic Iteritas, and everything is summed through Xer Mixa.
