What is Neurotrophic keratitis and Cenegermin (a human nerve growth factor)? Neurotrophic keratitis, impacts less than 5 in 10,000 individuals. There has been advancements made, in treating this disorder, using eye drops containing cenegermin, which is a recombinant human nerve growth factor. This noew treatment has demonstrated a 70% complete corneal healing success rate, compared to 28% using eye drops without cenegermin.
